Welcome back to Readerzz!
Today we’re kicking off a new three-part series on The Self-Driving You: Awaken the Driver Within to Rewire Your Brain and Transform Your Life with Alan Bodnar.
Alan’s core idea is that much of our life runs on autopilot. Our thoughts, reactions, emotions, habits, and even the stories we tell ourselves are often being driven by a system we did not consciously choose. But the book is not about being stuck there. It is about learning how to wake up, take the wheel, and slowly rewire the system from the inside.
In Part 1, we build the foundation of the self-driving metaphor. We talk about the conscious and nonconscious mind, System 1 and System 2, why feelings are not always telling us the truth, how old beliefs get wired in before we can question them, and why the breath may be one of the first tools we have to regain control.
This episode is really about awareness. How much of your day are you actually driving, and how much is being driven for you? And once you notice the autopilot, what does it look like to step in and choose something different?
Enjoy!
